hi, I enjoyed yr post about mother's day, but i want to pass on some information to yr son! mother's day was conceived in 1805 by ann jarvis as a way to reconcile the Civil War mothers of BOTH SIDES who were grieving so much at the loss of their sons. Her daughter anna marie jarvis picked it up as her mother died before her dream could be realized to have Mother's Day celebrated as an act of PEACE. Julia Ward Howe worked hard in 1872 to also make mother's day a day of peace. I wrote much more about it in my blog, but I wanted to share this with you right now.My blog is Diary of A Magpie Woman.
